Stuart is the Martin County seat, known as the Sailfish Capital of the World, with a historic downtown on the St. Lucie River. Its garages range from older homes near downtown and along East Ocean Boulevard, many with single doors and older openers, to newer communities off Kanner Highway with wide insulated doors. Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne both made landfall near Stuart in 2004, and many doors here were replaced after that with wind rated models that now need new springs and rollers. What we do here
When a spring breaks you usually hear a bang, and then the door will not lift more than a few inches. We replace both springs as a matched pair sized to the door, balance it and test it by hand. Most spring jobs run $200 to $500 installed.
Frayed or rusted cables, rollers that grind or skip and track that has been bent or knocked out of line. We replace cables in pairs, fit sealed rollers and straighten or replace the track so the door closes level.
We repair gears, logic boards, safety sensors, keypads and remotes, and set up phone app control on newer units. Most opener repairs run $150 to $300, and a new opener supplied and installed usually runs $350 to $650.
A door that came off its track after a snapped cable or a bump from the car can fall. Do not run the opener or try to force it. We secure the door, reset it on the track and check every hinge and bracket.
Replacement doors need a permit, an inspection and a Florida Product Approval for the wind pressure at your address. We handle the permit and the paperwork for your HOA. Single doors typically run $700 to $2,000 installed, double doors $1,200 to $4,000.
We lubricate springs and bearings, check cables, rollers and hinges for rust and wear, tighten the hardware and test the safety reverse. Worth doing every year close to the water. Most tune ups run $90 to $150.
